ME:I (Japanese: ミーアイ; Korean: 미아이) is an 11-member South Korean-Japanese girl group formed by PRODUCE 101 JAPAN 'THE GIRLS'.The group name ME:I is a play on words; featured on the logo is the Katakana 'ミ' (mi), which comes from the word 'ミライ' (mirai), meaning future."ME:I" means "an idol loved by everyone, an idol of the future, moving forward together toward the future".

PRODUCE 101 JAPAN 'THE GIRLS'
ME:I was formed by the Japanese survival show PRODUCE 101 JAPAN 'THE GIRLS', which aired from October 5th-December 7th, 2023 on Japanese video-on-demand and streaming service Lemino.96 girls were chosen after the 2nd round of auditions were held, and only 11 were chosen to debut, forming ME:I.
